As science-buff, and science writer too,
I have bit of technophilic view.
But sentimental, also, is my mind.
And as you see, I'm poetry-inclined.
I'm part of groups that work to conquer space
And spread the eggs to safeguard our young race.
A skeptic, part of CSICOP, and a dreamer
And businessman, and anti-evil-schemer.
I'm working on a novel (aren't we all)?
But just in '02 heard this fiction's call.
All writing prior's been on tech and biz
But now my muse for fiction starts to fizz.
And poetry is new to me as well.
I'm rough at it, as you can surely tell.
I grew up breathing Heinlein, Niven, Clarke;
For me their worlds have always held a spark.
But heretofore I read, and did not write.
With help from you, and luck, now I just might.
"The Age of Octans" is the work begun
I'm on the second book of five. It's fun.
And work, and sweat, and needs some real critique...
So I'll do some, then you can take a peek.
I follow evolution, physics, space,
Of Paleontology I too have a trace.
At sundry other sciences I dabble.
And wordplay (though I don't spend time with Scrabble).
Beliefs? Well mostly, I believe in Man.
And toward our future, do what things I can.
I answer science questions in some groups
That Yahoo hosts, along with other troops.
I'm learning bits of law now on the side.
To handle better life's oft-bumpy ride.
I had a techno-business in SoCal.
My Lady was my partner, wife and pal.
I lost her in '14, I'm sad to send
But thanks for looking, my (potential?) friend.
